They keep the ECI Electro-Gel from spreading between the electrodes and absorb perspiration. It is recommended the disks be placed on FP1 and FP2 to prevent the cap from moving up on the forehead.

A pair of pure tin cup electrodes with a 48" (122 cm) lead wire and a female socket. A spring-clip back, covered with plastic for patient comfort, is used to hold the electrode in place.
